Community Connection: Two Kelsey-Seybold Leaders Named to Board of Director Positions

Pediatrician Helene Sheena, MD, FAAP, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic – Tanglewood, and Senior Vice President of Healthcare Service Lines John Lyle were recently elevated to executive-level roles on the boards of directors for organizations they serve outside the clinic.

Dr. Sheena was elected Madam President of the Newcomb Institute of Tulane University Alumnae Association Board of Directors, after serving on the board for six years. She will serve as president of the board for a year.

“Newcomb offers many leadership opportunities for the next generation of female trailblazers and for the community,” Dr. Sheena said. “As a doctor and a mother, I feel strongly that we need to prepare women for opportunities in medicine, engineering, and technology.”

John was elected secretary of the Pearland Economic Development Corporation (PEDC), having held a board position with this group for three years. He will serve as secretary for two years.

“The Pearland Economic Development Corporation does important work in the City of Pearland and is a great partner to have. I’m honored they’ve chosen me for the role of secretary and look forward to serving the board and the community,” Lyle said.
