Dr. Melanie Mouzoon Accepts the John R. Boettiger, Jr. Award for Community Partnership

Congratulations to Dr. Melanie Mouzoon, our Managing Physician for Immunization Practices, for being honored with the John R. Boettiger, Jr. Award for Community Partnership.

This award goes to someone who actively engages the community in the immunization conversation. Knowing the importance of protecting the public from dangerous diseases takes a dedicated community-wide effort.

Dr. Mouzoon received this award on April 23 during the 12th Annual Community Immunity Spring Luncheon, which was held virtually and benefitted The Immunization Partnership (TIP).

“Dr. Mouzoon has played an incredibly important role in TIP from the beginning. Without her leadership, wisdom, and guidance, TIP wouldn’t be the organization it is today,” said Allison Winnike, J.D., TIP President and CEO. “She is a devoted immunization advocate, educator, and leader and is recognized for her unparalleled achievement in immunization and community leadership.”

The Immunization Partnership’s mission is to eradicate vaccine-preventable diseases by educating the community, advocating for evidence-based public policy, and supporting immunization best practices.

Dr. Mouzoon accepted the award saying, “This is a great honor and I believe each of us has a twofold moral purpose to make ourselves better people day by day, and to make our community and society better each day as well.”
