Groundbreaking Marks Start of Fort Bend Medical and Diagnostic Center Expansion

Wearing construction hard hats and with shovels in hand, Fort Bend County officials joined Kelsey-Seybold leaders, physicians, and administrators in kicking off the expansion of Fort Bend Medical and Diagnostic Center, a project that will bring additional healthcare services to care for a growing population.

The expansion will entail expanding the current clinic and building an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) and a Cancer Center. Upon completion in 2023, Fort Bend Medical and Diagnostic Center will be renamed Fort Bend Campus.

“This has been a long time coming. It’s nice to see the dirt moving at Fort Bend,” said Stuart Cayer, Senior Director of Ambulatory Clinics. “It’s fun to watch the continued growth of Kelsey-Seybold, especially in a county that is growing so quickly.”

The guest of honor, Fort Bend County Precinct 3 Commissioner Andy Meyers, touted the positive impact this expansion project will have on the community.

“I’m excited to see Kelsey-Seybold make yet another investment in Fort Bend County,” Commissioner Meyers said. “Not only will this bring more medical services to nearly 1 million Fort Bend residents, but it will also open up more jobs for the people who live in the county.”
