Kelsey-Seybold Doctors Made Headlines in April

April 3 - Dr. Steffanie Campbell, Internal Medicine, Pearland Clinic, was interviewed by FOX 26 on the importance of wearing face masks in public places.
April 3 - Dr. Campbell spoke to ABC 13 about the “quarantine 15,” which is the weight gain that could happen while staying at home.
April 14 - Dr. Campbell interviewed with radio station KTRH 740-AM about the hidden dangers of catching COVID-19 when walking or running next to someone on a trail, as the virus could stay in the air longer than originally thought.
April 20 - Dr. Campbell spoke to FOX 26 about the possibility of a meat shortage and gave dietary alternatives with adequate protein.
April 24 - Dr. Campbell spoke to FOX 26 about the option of at-home tests for COVID-19 and the issues these tests can present for healthcare professionals.


April 3 - Dr. Ned Snyder, Chief of Gastroenterology, Berthelsen Main Campus and Pearland Clinic, was interviewed by FOX 26 about the detrimental health effects from binge drinking while being quarantined.


April 6 - Dr. Angela Guerra, Family Medicine, Baytown Clinic, spoke to FOX 26 about the increase of weight commonly known at the “quarantine 15.” She gave some tips to avoid gaining weight during this time.
April 17 - Dr. Guerra spoke to FOX 26 and offered some safety tips for the new chefs at home trying new things in the kitchen.


April 6 - Dr. Melanie Mouzoon, Managing Physician for Immunization Practices, Women’s Center, was interviewed by FOX 26 about the current death rate of COVID-19 in the Houston area.


April 8 - Dr. Christine Le, Family Medicine, Tanglewood Clinic, appeared on FOX 26, where she answered viewer questions about COVID-19.
April 9 - Dr. Le was interviewed by FOX 26 about why more people in their 30s tested positive for COVID-19 than other age groups in Houston.
April 22 - Dr. Le spoke to KHOU-TV about the importance of wearing face masks in public spaces.
April 27 - Dr. Le was interviewed by FOX 26 about the symptoms of COVID-19 and whether new symptoms have been discovered.


April 8 - Dr. Suma Manjunath, Pediatrics, Pearland Clinic, appeared on FOX 26, where she answered viewer questions about COVID-19.
April 14 - Dr. Manjunath answered viewer questions on FOX 26 about COVID-19.


April 9 - Dr. Shane Magee, Internal Medicine, Tanglewood Clinic, was interviewed on FOX 26 about the issues of having to care for someone at home who has tested positive for COVID-19, and he provided tips on how to stay healthy within the household.
April 21 - Dr. Magee was interviewed by KPRC-TV NBC about why 30- to 40-year-olds test positive more often than other age groups in the Houston area.


April 10 - Dr. Felicia Jordan, Internal Medicine, Katy Clinic, spoke to FOX 26 about weight gain during the quarantine, now commonly known as the “quarantine 15,” and provided tips on how to avoid this.

April 13 - Dr. Pamela Sanders, Pediatrics, Fort Bend Medical and Diagnostic Center, was interviewed by FOX 26 about tips and tricks parents can do to keep kids calmer at home.
April 15 - Dr. Sanders spoke to FOX 26 about helmet safety and why parents should lead by example and wear helmets with their kids while riding bikes.
April 29 - Dr. Sanders was interviewed by KHOU about how to talk to kids about wearing masks in public.


April 14 -  Dr. Michelle Udayamurthy, Internal Medicine, Berthelsen Main Campus, appeared on FOX 26 answering common COVID-19 questions submitted by viewers.
April 21 - Dr. Udayamurthy spoke to FOX 26 about the best ways to manage chronic health conditions at home and when you should see your doctor.


April 16 - Dr. Catherine Cahill, Orthopedics, Berthelsen Main Campus and Pasadena, spoke to FOX 26 about the proper ways to wear a mask and tips for removing and cleaning it.


April 16 - Dr. Riva Collins, Dermatology, Tanglewood Clinic and Berthelsen Main Campus, was interviewed by FOX 26 about how to safely do self-care for nails and hair.


April 21 - Dr. Puneet Patni, Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine, Clear Lake Clinic, Berthelsen Main Campus, Pasadena Clinic, and Sleep Center, was interviewed by FOX 26 about the unhealthy role smoking and vaping play in COVID-19.
April 27 - Dr. Patni spoke to KPRC Channel 2 about how to properly diagnose and treat acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).


April 27 - Dr. Jessica Lanerie, Pediatrics, Sienna Planation Clinic and Fort Bend Medical and Diagnostic Center, spoke to FOX 26 about the decline in vaccination rates among school-aged children. She explained why it’s important to stay on schedule with vaccines.


April 27 - Dr. Jonathan Garza, Neurology, Berthelsen Main Campus and Spring Medical and Diagnostic Center, was interviewed by FOX 26 regarding the increase in strokes in younger COVID-19 patients and what might be causing the increase.
