Kelsey-Seybold Doctors Made Headlines in March

These Kelsey-Seybold doctors were featured in news articles and interviews
in March 2020.

March 3, Dr. Michelle Udayamurthy, Internal Medicine, Berthelsen Main Campus, was interviewed by KPRC Channel 2 about the negative impact that loud music during group workout classes can have on hearing. She gave tips on how to protect hearing when exposed to loud noises for an extended time.

March 23, Dr. Udayamurthy spoke to FOX 26 about symptoms that differentiate common allergies from COVID -19, with fever as a telltale factor.

March 4 & 9, Dr. Suma Manjunath, Pediatrics, Pearland Clinic, answered viewer questions on FOX 26 about COVID-19.

March 10, Dr. Manjunath spoke to ABC 13 about the trajectory of COVID-19 and when she expects virus infections to peak.

March 17, Dr. Manjunath gave KHOU Channel 11 an update on the current COVID-19 situation in Houston.

March 21, Dr. Manjunath spoke to FOX 26 regarding what risk factors put children at higher risk for COVID-19 and how parents can better protect their children.

March 4,  Dr. Melanie Mouzoon, Managing Physician for Immunization Practices, Women’s Center, was interviewed by ABC 13 about COVID-19 and how it’s increasing the patient load in hospitals and doctors’ offices.

March 5, Dr. Mouzoon appeared on FOX 26, where she answered viewer questions about COVID-19.

March 9, Dr. Mouzoon, along with seven other health experts from Houston, participated in a phone bank assembled by KPRC Channel 2 to answer call-in questions pertaining to COVID-19.

March 16, Dr. Mouzoon was featured on ABC 13 Facebook Live, where she  answered viewer questions about COVID-19.

March 23, Dr. Mouzoon spoke with radio station KTRH 740-AM about anti-vaxxers’ fears about a future COVID-19 vaccine.

March 24, Dr. Mouzoon was interviewed by KHOU Channel 11 about safety precautions to be taken before and after ordering restaurant takeout and deliveries.

March 4, Dr. Carolyn Carlson, Pediatrics, Summer Creek Clinic, was interviewed by KSBJ 89.3-FM about staying healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic.
March 9, Dr. Carlson, along with seven other health experts from Houston, participated in a phone bank assembled by KPRC Channel 2 to answer callers’ questions pertaining to COVID-19.

March 15, Dr. Carlson was interviewed by KSBJ 89.3-FM and ESPN 95.7, where she gave updates on the COVID-19 crisis, including new symptoms that could be cause for concern.

March 16, Dr. Carlson was interviewed by FOX 26 in the morning on how COVID-19 affects kids and what to do to ease their anxieties. Later that day, she was featured on “The Isiah Factor Uncensored” and stressed the importance of social distancing.

March 9, Dr. Devanshi Somaiya, OB/GYN, Downtown at The Shops Clinic, was featured on “The Isiah Factor Uncensored” show on FOX 26 about the issues connected with traveling during the COVID-19 crisis and precautions that should be taken.

March 13, Dr. Christine Le, Family Medicine, Tanglewood Clinic, was interviewed by FOX 26, where she answered viewer questions pertaining to COVID-19.

March 17 & 18, Dr. Le was featured on ABC 13 Facebook Live, where she answered viewer questions about COVID-19.

March 17, Dr. Le was featured on “The Isiah Factor Uncensored” segment on FOX 26 and dispelled common COVID-19 myths.

March 17, Dr. Shane Magee, Internal Medicine, Tanglewood Clinic, was interviewed on FOX 26, where he answered viewer questions pertaining to COVID-19.

March 19, Dr. Magee was featured on ABC 13 Facebook Live, where he answered viewer questions about the COVID-19 crisis.

March 23, Dr. Magee was interviewed on FOX 26 about the importance of protective masks, including who should be wearing them and when.

March 31, Dr. Magee spoke to FOX 26, explaining the precautions that should be taken while grocery shopping and what to do once home from the store.

March 23, Dr. Steffanie Campbell, Internal Medicine, Pearland Clinic, was interviewed on FOX 26, where she answered COVID-19 viewer questions.

March 25, Dr. Campbell was interviewed by FOX 26 about two newly identified symptoms of COVID-19: loss of taste and smell.

March 31, Dr. Campbell was interviewed by FOX 26 about managing chronic conditions during this COVID-19 crisis and tips to stay healthy.

March 23, Dr. Donnie Aga, Medical Director for Healthcare Innovation, was interviewed by FOX 26 about the importance of telemedicine during the COVID-19 crisis and the precautions Kelsey-Seybold is taking to help protect patients. During the interview, Zubia Khan, Physician Assistant, demonstrated the convenience of scheduling of a virtual visit and the advantages it has for doctors and patients.

March 31, Dr. Aga was interviewed by FOX 26 about the patient safety advantages of seeing patients via telemedicine vs. in-person appointments at the clinic.

March 31, Dr. Aga was interviewed by Houston Public Radio about the transition to virtual health during this COVID-19 crisis.

March 23, Dr. Biren Patel, Behavioral Medicine, Meyerland Plaza Clinic, was interviewed by FOX 26 about the rise of anxiety and depression during COVID-19.

March 25 & 27, Dr. Megan Pallister, OB/GYN, Tanglewood Clinic and Woman’s Center, was interviewed by KHOU Channel 11 and FOX 26 about protocol changes happening in hospitals and what expectant moms should prepare for if delivering in the coming weeks.
