Kelsey-Seybold Doctors Made Headlines in May

These Kelsey-Seybold doctors were featured in news articles and interviews in May 2020.

May 4: Dr. Pamela Sanders, Pediatrics, Fort Bend Medical and Diagnostic Center, was interviewed by Fox 26 regarding the importance of following water-safety guidelines and gave tips to parents on how to prevent childhood drownings.

May 19: Dr. Sanders spoke to Fox 26 about “hug shields.”  She discusses the safety and efficacy of homemade hug shields families are making in order to hug one another during the pandemic.

May 4: Dr. Eric Sandberg, Allergy and Immunology, Clear Lake Clinic, Fort Bend Medical and Diagnostic Center, and Berthelsen Main Campus, spoke to Fox 26 about the possibility of testing positive for COVID-19 multiple times and why.

May 6: Dr. Christine Le, Family Medicine, Tanglewood Clinic, appeared on Fox 26 to discuss recommended guidelines for keeping customers safe as nail salons and gyms reopen.

May 25: Dr. Le was interviewed on ABC 13 about the safest way to return to work during the COVID-19 pandemic. She discussed steps you should take to stay healthy in the workplace.

May 11: Dr. Steffanie Campbell, Internal Medicine, Pearland Clinic, was interviewed by FOX 26 about the recent research indicating a correlation between vitamin D and a lower mortality rate among COVID-19 patients.

May 13: Dr. Campbell shared tips with ABC 13 on how to safely participate in social gatherings, such as keeping the group size to 10 people or less and monitoring temperatures.

May 18: Dr. Campbell was interviewed on KTRH 740-AM about a COVID-19 vaccine and how it would be heavily researched, tested, studied, and proven safe before made available to the public.

May 18: Dr. Campbell spoke to Fox 26 about singer/songwriter Adele’s weight loss and whether her diet is safe and recommended.

May 14: Dr. Jessica Lanerie, Pediatrics, Sienna Plantation Clinic and Fort Bend Medical and Diagnostic Center, spoke to KHOU-TV about childhood vaccinations and how important it is to keep current during these unprecedented times.

May 18: Dr. Lanerie was interviewed by Fox 26 about the increase in pediatric inflammatory multisystem syndrome (PIMS), how it can be related to COVID-19, and the symptoms parents should be on the lookout for.

May 15: Dr. Michelle Udayamurthy, Internal Medicine, Berthelsen Main Campus, appeared on FOX 26 to discuss protecting yourself from heat exhaustion and sunburns from the hot summer sun.

May 15: Dr. Melanie Mouzoon, Managing Physician for Immunization Practices, Woman’s Center, was interviewed by Fox 26 about how to safely return to work and steps to stay healthy.

May 15: Dr. Mouzoon appeared on KXAN-TV NBC in Austin where she emphasized the importance of staying current with vaccinations during the COVID-19 pandemic.

May 20: Dr. Anita Mehta, Chief of Dermatology, Berthelsen Main Campus, was interviewed by KPRC-TV about how stress and diet changes during this pandemic can cause flare-ups with psoriasis. She gave tips to calm the intensification of symptoms.

May 26: Dr. Donnie Aga, Medical Director for Healthcare Innovation, was interviewed by KTRH 740-AM about the precautions Kelsey-Seybold and other health providers are taking to make sure their facilities are safe for patients.

May 28 and 29: Dr. Suma Manjunath, Pediatrics, Pearland Clinic, appeared on FOX 26 and KPRC-TV where she discussed the precautions travelers should take during the COVID-19 pandemic.
