“Fantabulous!” is how Carla Franklin-McQueen, Director of Ambulatory Care Services, described how it felt to be working at the new Kelsey-Seybold Clinic – Memorial Villages Campus on opening day.
The five-story campus is easily seen by drivers on the north side of I-10 between Loop 610 West and Beltway 8, a prominent location for our first new campus location built under our strategic growth plan to improve access to highly specialized care in target regions across the Greater Houston area.
“We’re so excited to be in a brand-new building,” Carla said of the 125,000-square-foot campus at 1001 Campbell Road in Spring Valley Village. “Everyone – doctors, nurses, and support staff – is truly proud of this significant investment by Kelsey-Seybold.”
The opening of Memorial Villages Campus on Mon., Aug. 8, was no small undertaking. Preparing for the first patients required a team approach to meet the opening day deadline.
Family Medicine practitioner Christine Le, D.O., said we are “enjoying the beautiful, spacious, light-filled rooms and welcoming atmosphere” at the new campus.
Jed Goodall eagerly watched as Memorial Villages Campus was built. “I’m amazed how fast it was completed,” said Jed, a Kelsey-Seybold patient for 25 years. “It’s convenient and the access to parking was so easy.”
Teams from across the organization worked together to help make opening day a special experience.
“Our patients today are sharing their excitement about this beautiful space and the positive energy of the clinic staff. Opening today was only made possible because of the dedication of our entire organization,” said Shane Magee, MD, Managing Physician, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic – Memorial Villages Campus.
Memorial Villages Campus has space for up to 50 providers to provide comprehensive primary and specialty care for adults and children.
“We’re so visible and open to more patients,” said Rohan Wagle, MD, Cardiology. “It’s nice for the members of the community to visit us as a one-stop shop. They can see their primary care docs and specialties, do their lab work and X-rays, and then get back to their busy lives.”
Memorial Villages Campus offers patients care in a variety of specialties including Allergy/Immunology, Audiology, Cardiology, Dermatology, ENT, Endocrinology, Ophthalmology, Optometry, Gastroenterology, Hematology/Oncology, Infectious Disease, Neurology, Orthopedics, PM&R, Podiatry, Pulmonary Medicine, Rheumatology, General Surgery, and Urology. And in a few months, the Memorial Villages Campus Ambulatory Surgery Center will also formally open to treat patients who need outpatient surgical care.
“Patients who come here will have nearly all the healthcare services they could need in a lifetime,” said Dr. Magee. “That’s what sets us apart. Our doctors and providers are committed to seeing their patients through all phases of their lives and we can’t build these lifelong, trusting relationships without the help and support of the entire organization. We’re one team and there’s no greater proof of that than today’s opening.”
