Kelsey-Seybold Clinic providers and staff were joined by the East End Chamber of Commerce for a ribbon cutting at Gulfgate Clinic. Chamber President Frances Dyess was impressed with the clinic’s convenient location for Gulfgate residents and businesses.
“It’s a perfect location because it’s just off the freeway, near a residential area,” Frances said. “I think now that people are getting back into offices, more people employed in South-Central Houston will be able to conveniently visit the clinic.”

Audrey Hindlet, Clinic Administrator at Gulfgate Clinic, is pleased chamber members were able to visit the new clinic.
“I think it’s great for the chamber to know we’re here and providing essential healthcare services for the Gulfgate community,” Audrey said. “Historically, there haven’t been many healthcare providers in this area. We look forward to partnering with the chamber to help generate more visibility and connections with local residents and employers.”
Gulfgate Clinic, located at 520 Gulfgate Center Mall, provides primary care to South-Central Houston residents. The clinic has seen many walk-in patients since opening in November.
“As soon as we opened, many patients came to learn about the services we offer,” said Sheldon Gaines, MD, Managing Physician for the clinic. “It’s hard to believe that after only a few months, our daily schedules are filling up. Many people who come in mention that they live just over the freeway or down the road. I think that really speaks to the need for a clinic like this in the Gulfgate area.”
“This is a community-driven area. For patients who are new to Kelsey-Seybold, the familiarity of this location and the convenience of having other major retailers nearby will attract new patients,” Frances said.

Feedback from patients has been encouraging, with many patients choosing to make Gulfgate Clinic their medical home.
“Patients like that this clinic is a one-stop shop,” Audrey said. “We’ve had patients come to Gulfgate from other Kelsey-Seybold locations and other practices. Gulfgate Clinic offers the community something it hasn’t had access to before – a primary care clinic that’s close to home.”
